Yellow Belt self defense #3 Counter 1 Opponent starts to sweep you and you slide your front foot back and push attacking leg upward with your lead leg as you push their rear shoulder with your lead hand while trapping their lead arm while sweeping them down finishing with an armbar.
Yellow Belt self defense #3 Counter 2 Opponent starts to sweep you and you side step away from their attacking leg with your rear leg as you push their rear shoulder with your lead hand while scooping up attacking leg with your other hand picking them up and throwing them.
Rear Sweep Throw slide up to opponent and sweep the back of their lead leg with your lead leg as you backfist their face sending them onto their back.
Rear Sweep Throw (Counter) Opponent attempts Rear Sweep Throw and you Bong Sao his attacking arm then grab attacking wrist with your rear hand arm barring same arm with your other forearm taking them to ground onto their stomach and put your lead leg over same arm and do a leg over straight armlock.
Ippon Seoi Nague (under arm throw) Counter As opponent attempts this shove their hip to lower their head so you can apply a rear naked choke.
O Goshi (back throw) Counter after opponent gives his back to you step up with rear leg and put your forearm across their throat while you scoop their leg with your other arm throwing them onto their back.
Counter to Orange Belt defense #2 Reverse bent wristlock step up with opposite foot of arm being attacked turning direction of side being attacked and use free hand to push up the closest elbow turning over arm and finishing with an armbar.
Side Headlock & Counter while in side headlock lift up on opponent’s nose, twist their body around and then apply a neck crank.
OR after lifting up the nose, throw them by lifting up their leg with your other hand and you can end with a leg lock.
Rear Naked Choke grab their right wrist with your left hand and bend down and elbow him, step back with left leg and duck under their arm. Use a straight arm-bar to take them to the ground and kneel on their arm.
OR before lock is set, throw them with shoulder throw ending with a figure-four armlock.

GUN DEFENSE for PURPLE-BELT FEAR NOT MMA

(Krav Maga) Attacker points gun straight w/right hand stepping forward w/right foot. Defender is in ready stance and and w/left hand grabs top of gun barrel and turns it over to the right lowing it to attackers waist level w/ gun now pointing to the left of attacker & now on its side while you stun attacker with a few right punches. Then grab the left side of the gun from underneath with your right hand palm up turning gun over pointing it at them while breaking their finger and pulling away the gun.
(Krav Maga) Attacker has gun pointed up against your chest or belly. Pivot your body out of line of fire as you grab their wrist and pull their hand forward the same direction you are turning and use the other hand to turn gun to break finger and take away gun.
(Kung Fu) Attacker w/right hand stepping forward w/right foot. Defender is in ready stance & steps to the left w/ left foot as you grab the top of the gun w/ your right hand stopping the hammer with your thumb turning the gun to point up then grab the outside of attackers hand with your left hand, step forward with right foot, turn left crossing left foot behind & use your right forearm to help pin attackers arm & take away and throw gun if you choose, then use both thumbs under pressure points below their knuckles to twist them to the ground holding their wrist behind the head and pushing their forearm to hold down their head and you can get more control using your right knee on their body.
(Goshinkwai Karate) Attacker points gun straight w/both hands holding gun. Defender is in ready stance and steps out of line of fire to right and puts right hand between attackers arms palm down and up the outside of their arms as he cradles barrel of gun between the other hands first finger and thumb. Turn guns towards them as you slide the top of your right hand along their right forearm toward the gun as you then assume the gun.
(Sensei’s own Tech.) Attacker points gun straight with right hand holding gun. Defender is in ready stance and steps out of line of fire to left as you grab the end of barrel with the area between your left hand’s thumb and first finger as you simultaneously strike the edge of attacker’s hand with the side of you right hand that is under your thumb striking that same part of attacker’s hand, pulling toward’s yourself making gun point away from you as it turns counterclockwise and ends up you your hand as you step back with your left foot.

Kick Blocks

Any Kick simply slide backwards or side step away from kicking range.
Block Front Kick with X knife block, which then turns to a grab lift up high to throw backwards.
Block Axe Kick by side stepping & moving forward under kick to meet your shoulder as you grab their shoulder to push & sweep them.
Block Side Kick by moving forward & away from kick with back leg grabbing leg with opposite arm from underneath then sweep them down with same leg pushing closest shoulder with same side arm.
Block Roundhouse Kick slide in past kick with lead leg while underhooking attacking leg with your lead arm and grab outside shoulder with opposite hand and sweep them to the ground with back leg.
Block Spinning Hook Kick (opposite feet back) move inside the arc of the kick before it reaches you with front leg and underhook attacking leg with lead arm while grabbing shoulder with other hand and sweep them with your back leg.

Lesson 10: Leg Hook Takedown

Clinch: If you are on your opponents right side the left side of your head will be against the left side of his chest but not under his arm while you hug his body with both arms with the hand in front of his body grabbing the top of your other wrist that you have around his back. Your body is not directly in front of him but off to his right side a little with your left foot next to his right foot and your other foot in front of his body. To take him down with a leg hook takedown you take a set up step with your right foot stepping closer between the front of their legs then use your left foot to sweep their right foot (calf to calf) and lift their foot high like a donkey kick and land with your left knee high against their body with both hands unclasped and posted on each side of them, then slip the other knee over their body to achieve the mount position.

Lesson 11: Clinch (Aggressive Opponent)

Start and stay in same stance as opponent (same leg back) and keep finger touching distance by shuffling feet back and forth (going back move back foot first then slide front) (going forward move front foot first then slide back foot) and when he tries to come in for the punch shoot in with front leg with hands up to protect your face and get him in the clinch and leg-hook takedown.

Lesson 12: Clinch (Conservative Opponent)

Surprise Entry: If attacker is more cautious and does not just come in right away you can time his advances and wait for him to come forward and then shoot under his arms and keep driving forward if he is backing away until you can get the clinch. Always shoot in with your front leg and be in same stance as opponent (same leg back).

Lesson 13: Double Leg Takedown (Shoot)

Start facing opponent with same leg back (same stance) and shoulder touching distance and drop a level lower, step between his legs with your front leg and drive your shoulder into his waist with your head on the outside of his front leg, while you grab behind both of his knees just above his calves and drive him to the ground keeping control of his legs & one of your legs to the outside of his, then push down a knee and circle out to a side mount.

Lesson 14: Shoot (double leg takedown counter)

As opponent shoots hook underneath one bicep and over the other bicep and flip him onto his back lifting with the arm that is under then land on him in mount.

Lesson 15: Body Fold Takedown

When in the clinch with opponent trying to punch you in the face you can feel him lean back a little during attempted punch and you slide down a little from the side of his body with your front hand grabbing your own wrist around his back & you push his opposite side of chest with your head and shoulder as you lift and pull with your arms to fold his body back your step forward with your front foot and land on him in mount.

1. Turn 90 ° to the left into right back stance (left foot forward), double high knife-hand block to the left.

2. Front kick with the right foot.

2b. Set the kicking foot down into right front stance, middle punch with right hand.

3. Turn 180° to the right into left back stance (right foot forward), double high knife-hand block to the right.

4. Front kick with the left foot.

4b. Set the kicking foot down into left front stance, middle punch with left hand.

5. Turn 90° to the left into left front stance, low block with left hand.

5b. Without stepping or moving feet, twist body 45° to the left, knife-hand high block with left hand, inward middle knife-hand strike with right hand.
